All You Need to Know about the UDance Marathon
UDance, founded in 2007 by Jessie Forman, has grown substantially. The 1st UDance was held in the Trabant Student Center. Originally, UDance was sponsored by 2 Greek organizations - Sigma Phi Epsilon and Alpha Epsilon Phi. In our 1st year, UDance raised $8,000. In 2009, The Andrew McDonough B+ (Be Positive) Foundation partnered with UDance and grew the event significantly - raising $25,000. Student organizations got a chance to "adopt" a "B+ Hero", a child battling cancer. In 2010, UDance more than quadrupled the previous year's money and raised $118,000. Last year, UDance surpassed its goal raising over $260,00! This year UDance hopes to raise $400,000. To see how you can help make this possible, please contact our fundraising chairs or start your own team on our donation page!
UDance benefits The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation. The B+ (Be Positive) Foundation honors the memory of Andrew McDonough who passed away at age 14 from complications of leukemia. With your help, UDance will continue to support the B+ Foundations three specific objectives; provide financial assistance for families of critically ill children, sponsor research to find cures for pediatric cancer and advancements in chemotherapy, and keep the B+ Message alive.
