All You Need to Know about the UDance Marathon

bplusUDance began five years ago in 2007 by Jessie Forman. The first UDance was held in the Trabant MPR's and sponsored by Greek organizations Sigma Phi Epsilon and Alpha Epsilon Phi. The first year, UDance raised $8,000. In 2009, UDance raised $25,000 in the University Field House and became a registered student organization. In 2010, UDance quadrupled the previous years money and raised $118,000. This year UDance hopes to raise $200,000. To see how you can help make this possible, please contact our fundraising chairs or create your own page on our online fundraising website!

UDance benefits The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation. The B+ (Be Positive) Foundation honors the memory of Andrew McDonough who passed away at age 14 from complications of leukemia. With your help, UDance will continue to support the B+ foundations three specific objectives; Keep the B+ Message alive, Provide financial assistance for families of critically ill children, and Sponsor research to find cures for pediatric cancer and advancements in chemotherapy.

Is UDance just dancing?

No, UDance is a 12-hour event that combines a B+ Heroes ceremony, entertainment from groups on campus and in the area, eating contests, dancing, floor games and more. While people do not dance for the full 12-hours, we do ask that no one sits down to honor the physical and emotional struggle our Heroes endure.
