B+ Hero Lilly was diagnosed with cancer on July 5, 2013, and is now over three years cancer-free. She was paired with Gamma Phi Beta in 2014, and they have since been with each other through the many steps of cancer treatment and recovery. Throughout that time, Gamma Phi Beta and B+ Hero Lilly have developed an unbreakable bond and grown to be each other’s best friends.

B+ Hero Emily recently celebrated her last day of cancer treatment on June 27, 2020. In honor of her bravery and strength, our first B+ Hero Blog will highlight the bond between B+ Hero Emily and the University of Delaware’s Club Gymnastics team.

On May 7, 2020, UDance launched our first campaign for the upcoming year: See 5, Send 5, Stride 5! We challenged our UDance community to complete a 5K (3.1 miles) by walking, running, or biking in support of The B+ Foundation, and to nominate their friends and families to do the same. Our goal was to reach 1,000 collective miles by May 14, 2020.

In response to the growing need for financial assistance due to the pandemic, The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation launched the “ COVID-19 Doesn’t Stop Childhood Cancer: The B+ Foundation’s Response to Families of Kids with Cancer Impacted by COVID-19” campaign on April 30, 2020.
